The specific part of the instructions I didn't follow was about installing the supplied software. Instead I installed CDBURNERXP then plugged in the drive, waited for it to show up and then used CDBURNERXP. Installing their software seemed to mess up so I (painfully) removed that and went with other titles.
I'm seeing this problem mostly with Vista 64-bit. Many expect these suppliers to support you. Nothing could be farther from the truth.
I have an 840e DVD Writer and it worked ok until I updated to Vista x64 System. I was on chat with HP Tech Help and they can not tell me what Software to buy or download. The original Install Software was Nero OEM Suite 6.6
I have even been in touch with Nero and they can't tell me what to use.
I've searched the internet for: Firmware: 66FF and can't find anything I can use. I also searched on the DVD840e and got a lot of hits but I don't think there was anything I could use. I'm sort of an intermediate user and maybe I've missed somethin.
I would like to use this drive!
All help greatly appreciated.
