HP DVD Player stuck in replay mode.

Aug 11, 2010 12:37PM PDT

I am running HP DVD Player on Windows Vista Home Basic. A few days ago I played a DVD video. When the end of the video came, it suddenly started to replay. The whole video replayed four times before I just manually stopped it. I tried several other DVD videos with the same results.
I have tried going into the menu to shut off "Replay" but that doesn't help. Any ideas?

I see it has the HP QuickPlay but I won't look at that. Let me pop in a Video DVD and see what software runs.

Ah, it runs HP's QuickPlay. I see Repeat show up if I click on the letter i on the bottom menu area. If I mouse over the Repeat text if offers Title, Chapter and Off.

Hope this helps.

Remember that a DVD can be crafted in such a way to repeat so if this title does that and no other, that's it.

HP DVD Player stuck in replay mode

Thanks. In my original posting I mentioned trying several different videos. I should have said I tried it with several video DVDs. I got the same result with all.

Thanks for the help,

As I have one HP with Vista I tried to be as exact as I could as I tested DVD play in this very stock HP. I have not installed any other DVD player yet you write "HP DVD Player" and on mine it's called "HP QuickPlay."

I bet these differ in the menus in some subtle way. Sorry if I can't tell you exactly how to fix this. But I did try. Let's hope someone has your model with that same software.
