All the failed dv6000 and dv9000s I see have to get the motherboard replaced when they fail like that. The adapters fail because of the faulty motherboard (another issue!)
And no to your question. That's a sign of one of this machine's failure modes.
I have had this laptop for about 3 years now. I have had to buy new adapters twice because they have gone bad with typical use. Now I am faced with a new problem. When I plug the adapter in the blue light around the jack lights up, but the middle led on the front of the laptop does not light... I thought this was a battery issue, so I bought a new battery. Still nothing. The battery did however come with a small charge, I was able to boot the laptop, and noticed that the battery indicator by the clock also does not show that the adapter is plugged in, even the blue light on the side cleary shows there is power going into the laptop. Every blog I read speaks about the motherboard being bad, if that were the case, should I be able to use the laptop as normal off battery power?
