HP dv6 or Dell 15R

I can buy either an HP dv6 with: VISION Technology from AMD - Ultimate with AMD Phenom II N950 Quad-Core Mobile processor
2.10GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 4GB DDR3 RAM, and an ATI switchable 5650 card. Or a Dell 15R with Intel? Core? i5-450M Processor (2.4GHz)and 8GB DDR3 RAM with an ATI 5470. I plan to do some light gaming, but other than that it will be personal and school use. The other features are mostly differences in accessories, so those don't matter much to me. The prices are HP $898, Dell $899.

Thanks.

Given HP's disaster dv6000 models with the AMD chips.

I can't say I'd consider that anytime soon. Try the i5 based machines.

OK

But is the drop from the 5650 to the 5470 a big one? I'm not looking to max out my games, but I would like to play them occasionally.

The cpu may help.

But given HP's AMD track record why consider their AMD offerings until we see if they learned the lesson?

The 5470 isn't the bottom of the barrel and you can keep shopping.
