HP dv4040us vs. HP zv6010us, Pentium M vs. AMD 64

May 29, 2005 12:14PM PDT

Hi guys. I have a doubt: HP dv4040us vs. HP zv6010us.

Let me say something about dv4040us:
http://www.jr.com/JRProductPage.process?Product=4032671

Intel Centrino processor 740 1.73GHz, 1GB DDR (2x 512MB) , Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900 graphics with up to 128MB shared.

Price: 1549.88

----------------------------------------------------

Now zv6010us:
http://www.jr.com/JRProductPage.process?Product=4038367

AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3500+ (2.2 GHz), 512MB DDR (2x 256MB), ATI RADEON XPRESS 200M IGP graphics with 128MB of DDR SDRAM dedicated.

Price: 1349.88

----------------------------------------------------

My considerations:
In my opinion, the Pentium M 740 is too slow comparing to AMD 64 3500+. Am I right?? The second thing is the video card: Intel 128MB shared vs. ATI Radeon 128MB dedicated. Points to zv6010us, istn it?? But dv4040us has 1GB (2x 512) vs. 512MB (2x 256). The price differences is 200 dolar. With this money, i can buy 1GB ram.

I'm a developper and i'll use VisualStudio, SQLServer.. and sometimes.. a game.
Wicth notebook do you recomend???

dv4040us or zv6010us??

Ah, and the last question: Is it possible to buy another powerfull notebook with this money (1300 - 1500)???

Thanks
