HP dv1000 vs. Dell 700m

Sep 23, 2005 8:21AM PDT

I have narrowed down the choices to these two computers. I don't really care about gaming so the integrated card isn't a big deal. I really do like the Lightscribe on the HP but at the same time I like the dimensions more on the 700m. Can someone help? Which one is basically the better computer?

Thanks

The way you compare it now is just the size of the notebook. One has 14" screen and the other has 12" screen. For me, 12" screen is way too small for everyday use.

Whether which one is a better notebook is hard to say unless you list us the configuration of each notebook. They both are customizeable.

If you're worried about the weight and mobility, from my experience, anything under 6.5 lbs is easy to carry around.

I'm about 80/20 for the HP. This is the config:

-Microsoft(R) Windows(R) XP Home Edition with SP2
-Intel(R) Pentium(R) M Processor 740 (1.73 GHz)
-14.0" WXGA BrightView Widescreen
-512MB DDR SDRAM (1x512MB)
-60 GB 5400 RPM Hard Drive
-LightScribe 8x DVD+/-RW&CD-RW Combo w/Double Layer
-Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator 900 - Pentium
-Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2200BG & Bluetooth(TM)
-12 Cell Lithium Ion Battery

Does this seem okay? Anything I should add? Take out?

Thanks
