HP Director and IE6

I have an HP psc 2210 all-in-one printer, am using Windows XP, SP1 and IE6 and cannot get Hp Director to work.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. I get the Script Error:
Line 126
Char 9
Error Library not registered
Code 0

I have tried repairing this error according to the HP site, but it hasn't helped. Would the patch for IE7 be of any use in IE6? Has anyone any other ideas that might help? Thank you in advance. (I can only find suggestions on the web for HP Director and IE7, but I need help for IE6).
