HP/Compaq Customer Service

Apr 25, 2005 3:52PM PDT

I am just posting this for informational purposes and don't want to spark a war! I just went on Compaq/HP customer service site to chat with an online technician. I was asking about EM64T support for the SA4000T. The reply was very courteous, but it was slow. But picked up in the end. I did not recieve doa machines and didn't get the wrong specs. SO service has been great and so's reliability. And for those with HP/Compaq computers who have current 32-bit processors. The technician said that a bios update will be released in the future for Intel's 6xx processors. "Yes, sure it will be released in future. Research is being carried out to check it workability. I will forward your messages to our Research engineers and do my best to fasten the process." Good news! I think that compaq is going beyond their duty and making sure of future compatibility for its customers! I give this company a 8.0 out of 10.0 rating.

I have a compaq and I was actually on the website the other day for technical information. Anyway all I have to say is that Im VERY impressed with the online customer support. Saves a lot of time hunting around the website or going on a phone.

people thinking about getting a new computer and customer support is a big deal...go HP/compaq!

I've heard...

good things about HP's computers, and bad things about their service and support. (Mostly that support is practically non-existent.)

I own an HP printer (which I love). It hasn't needed service yet, but the "extra" software that came with it was full of bugs. The drivers and "basic" software were all I really needed, so I deleted the rest. My printer is quiet, fast, the image quality is fantastic...and it uses a lot less ink than any other printer I've owned.

If anyone else has anything to say about HP's PCs and/or hardware in general, I'd certainly like to hear it.

(My Epson printer was the worst "ink guzzler" I ever had, so I donated it to a friend who refills ink cartridges. He uses a chip re-setter to keep the Epson cartridges from "running out of ink" before they're "empty".)

my sister has a HP photo printer, it came with a digital camera, like a package deal. anyway it prints real well, but on the very fast print, it prints very slowly. and by it printing slowly it uses a lot of ink.

the camera is really nice, but the battery life absoultly sucks. 20 minutes is most you get.

like i said before HP/Compaq has been the best experience I have had with computers so far.

the only problem is with my moniter. I have a SR1215CL Compaq Presario and it works awesome. The moniter (model is FS7555) it resizes ALOT! and I have to click menu and make it bigger at least 10 times a day.

I would also like to hear about HP/COMPAQ and mention what model of compaq/hp you have with it.

I can set...
Apr 26, 2005 11:06AM PDT

the amount of ink used, how long it should take to dry, etc. You're sister's probably can as well. The default settings are supposed to be for "best quality", but I haven't noticed any kind of drop in quality unless I go "way lower". Look for those settings and play around a bit.
