HP 8610 Printer

I am asking for help and I am asking people not to rant on HP. I want help and not a rant.

Our HP Officejet Pro stopped printing. The print button in Word says that the printer is offline. The router says the printer is online.

I went to the Printer under control panel and changed the settings to use printer offline and it didn't work.

I tried everything. I tried HP's instruction to turn the printer off and unplug it. They said to turn the computer off and on. I uninstalled and reinstalled the software. I restarted the print spooler in Windows 8.1.

I tried to connect this wireless printer with USB and the software and the operating system doesn't believe it is connected. Everything else on the USB connection works.


I can't print.

Thank you.

I ended up calling HP and for some reason this printer qualified for online support and the other printer didn't.
She ended up changing the channel on the router to 11 so the printer wouldn't go offline.
