Assuming the HP disk (for printer) had Mac drivers and a 3180 goes back a bit, you MAY be able to go to HP'S drivers and solutions to see if there is an update for the Mac OS, that is a maybe. Good luck.
I think I posted here, I can not recall, have posted in so many places. I still have a problem trying to get my wife's MacBook to print to my printer.
Her machine is a MacBook which came pre-installed with Snow Leopard. Mine I've had for about 6 months and just upgraded to Snow Leopard.
Have printer sharing enabled. Have every conceivable driver update installed. Initially she would receive a message when trying to print that said 'Holding, authentification required'. Now when attempting she gets a 'looking for printer' message. Nothing of course prints.
I had moved her machine physically to my office, set it up and installed the printer on the machine. It worked fine. Moved it back to her office and it would not print...not connected or some message. Obviously. I then uninstalled the printer from her machine, didn't see a need to have it on there and went back to trying to share the printer. Nothing doing.
Short of putting a new printer on her machine, which seems excessive based on her minimal printing needs...any input?
Thanks.
