HowToinstall apps on thumb drives(via OTG) on my new Nexus 7

I saw various links instructing to either rooting or giving a very brief idea (and unclear with steps missing) about coding a few lines. I also saw in the comments that some people complaining that its not working. Moreover I couldn't find anything that addresses this issue explicitly for Nexus 7 2013. So, plz explain in details what I need to do without rooting. I won't nullify my warranty.

I have a Nexus 7 and could not find any support for this. Tell more such as where to find this feature.
