We've been officially in the high 90s
But our thermometer has been in the 100s and one day up to 112! Today a storm front came through and the temp dropped to 75, but the humidity is still 83%. Not the usual relief a storm brings.
Cooling a bit
Rainy, and muggy in the 80s. We were close to a record high that goes back to the 1890s but didn't quite make it. The flowers and vegetable plants are looking old. Fall soon be upon us.
It's been the mid-70s recently for awhile and that it seems is enough to let the mosquitoes wake-up. I do expect some insect life but the wettness seems to hurt here. So far, IMHO its been a cool summer overall. I certainly think over the last 4-5yrs. been a lot cooler in NW Ohio that I can recall. Also, I seem to be using my A/C alot less too, but that's not a bad thing either. Maybe, past 5yrs. ago it was so dang muggy and/or caused "prickly heat" to be felt, but not so as i mentioned in the last 4-5yrs. past including now. Feels like a wet Indain summer to me. -----Willy

Record highs and drought here
We've been as high as 106, and 100 or 100+ all month and the end of July. No rain.
The air quality has been very poor. Yesterday we had some wind, which helped that some.
I know we will pay the price with severe storms when this breaks.:-(
We have had some big thunder storms this summer
The cold front from Canada meeting the warm front from down south has but us squarely in the middle of some huge storms this past month including the chain of storms that flooded out the NY subway a few weeks ago.
Overall, it's been bouncing between 85 to 100 for the past 3 weeks and very muggy. All in all, it's a normal summer as far as the past few years go.
Wednesday: 97 predicted, 100 achieved.
And the classrooms a/c was broken.
