how to use my CASIO EXILIM EX-Z4 more effectively

Mar 4, 2005 11:28PM PST

i bought my casio exilim in dec 2003 and after a few uses, i was disappointed with the results of the pictures. the pictures are spotty, over-exposed when the flash is on, and underexposed when it is not on. the colours are not rich but dull and the quality is quite bad when i print them out, even though i set it on high resolution. Please help teach me how to use this stupid camera more effectively and if possible, in a less complicated way.

Casio EX-Z4
Mar 4, 2005 11:57PM PST

There were several problems with this camera when it was first released.

Casio has released a firmware upgrade which corrects many problems.

You should check to see if your camera has the latest firmware, and install it if necessary.

There are two versions of this camera and you must use the correct firmware. One version is sold in the USA and Canada (North America) and the other version is the European version. The North American version does not have video capability.

Here is a link that explains all of that and also has a link to where you can download the updated firmware for your camera:

Read the entire page and the firmware link is near the bottom.

Casio Firmware Updates
Mar 13, 2005 11:22PM PST

The best place to get current information about firware is from the Camera Makers site. Usually found under the title support.

Here is the link to Casio:
Beside the title "Downloads" click the "Go" button.

That takes you to a page that lists all available Firmware updates for all Casio cameras.
