how to use alter codes

i have a laptop dell inspiron 1545 and i need to type alter codes or characters but this keyboard wont let me plz and copy and paste does not work for some sites. tnx

The easy way?

Use some USB NUMBER PAD.

The hard way? Tap NumLock then use the alt+number on the keyboard number pad. Beware that many users can't do this no matter how many times you try.

Click start > Run > type in charmap
