Question

How to upgrade to a heavy duty laptop case?

Sep 16, 2015 7:06PM PDT

For the past month, I have tried shopping for a gamming laptop that offers heavy duty cases that can withstand natures elements outdoors. Are there any options?

Thank you,
Jordan

For me, when I go outdoors I'm there for reasons other than gaming. Besides there are power issues out there. I do carry a cellphone but little other tech.

Settling for a hardback case

Thank you for your replies. The Panasonic Toughbook option is what I am looking for. Yet, they lack specs I need which is graphic intensive when out on the field. I can't risk having a $5,000 laptop outside with those paper thin cases they are built in. Perhaps I will just have to settle for a hardback case instead http://www.pelican.com/cases_detail.php?Case=1075 .

Thank you all for your input!

5K laptop?
Sep 17, 2015 10:49AM PDT

That's a pretty rare thing here in the USA. Even the office only went to 1K and that got a y510p with 4th gen i7 dual GPUs 16GB and more. I can't imagine what 5K gets today.

Later the office swapped in a SSD. I guess gamers would want more than this.
