how to upgrade graphics on notebook

Nov 13, 2005 6:38AM PST

Hi i have an HP DV4000 notebook with Intel GMA900 (bleh). i just found out that HP will be offering ATI graphics w/ dedicated memory as an option when customizing the DV4000. GAH!! Can i somehow send in my notebook and have HP put in the graphics card of my choosing? If not, can I go out, buy the card, and put it in my laptop? What do I have to do if that's my only option - for instance, what will the Intel GMA do and installing drivers? Thanks.

Sorry, the new dv4000 is different from yours. The integrated gma 900 can't be upgraded at all.
