How to uninstall Directx 9.

Hi,

I am having a game problem, and I think the problem is directx 9 got corrupt. The game is Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2006. Intermittently, the game will crash and the pc will reboot!!

I have tried updated my video drivers, no go. I have played with my video card hardware acceleration settings for both video and sound...no fix.

The last thing I am thinking is directx got corrupted somehow. I have tried reinstalling the game, but it doesn't reinstall directx because it is already installed.

How can I uninstall directx, and then reinstall if from my video driver cd. The game used to work perfectly. I have no idea what happened.

What I do know is I spent all night troubleshooting this, to no avail.

Well, any help would be appreciated.

TIA,

Viper

It says to extract the dx8 files to the dxtemp dir on c:. where do I find the dx8 files on my xp pro disk?

Don't they have to be in that folder before you can proceed.

I am out of my element here.

Anymore help would be appreciated.
