Question

How to uninstall ASUS program once and for all?

Aug 8, 2017 11:57AM PDT

So just bought a new desktop from my cousin (he's a computer developer, he built it for me) and it's great! The only problem is that I had to buy an external wifi adapter because there wasn't one built in to the computer itself. It was a ASUS usb adapter and it was awful. I couldn't connect to my internet at all. It also seemed to take over my audio systems and an ASUS logo showed up at my startup screen and I was totally bugged. After a couple of days I went out and bought a new one and uninstalled the crappy ASUS software from the disc hoping it would take the audio control and start up screen with it, but alas, it can't just be that easy can it? It's still shows up when I start up my computer and the realatek audio manager whenever I plug anything into the audio jacks. If anyone knows how to completely 100% get rid of the thing I would love some help!
Thanks.

this adapter

was it just a USB wifi device you plug direct to an USB port, or did you have a USB adapter added into a slot on the computer and expected to access network with it?

If Asus logo is showing up on motherboard, is this during the POST just before it boots up? If so, that's a setting in the BIOS that you may be able to turn it off.

If these are programs installed direct to windows, then go into the Add/Remove section and search there for the programs and uninstall them.

the device just went straight into the usb port. It hardly worker when I first started using it, I had terrible connection and couldn't do much of anything, then after two days it just stopped working completely.

I believe it is showing during the POST just before it boots up.

And I can't find the files in the add/remove section.

Thank you and if you have anymore direction please let me know!

I use these for long range, work in both windows and linux.

https://www.amazon.com/WinnerEco-Wireless-Adapter-Antenna-Network/dp/B01N6BN1SV

I use these for laptops that are mobile, works in both windows and linux.

Look in BIOS for a setting that turns off the splash screen during POST if you want it set that way. I know the splash screen can interfere with seeing how the POST is going. Typically pressing the DEL key continually after turning computer on will open the BIOS.

What operating system used? Version of Windows?

If it is shutting down it might be compatible error.
I don`t see reason why there is anything to remove. If you did not load anything, there is nothing to remove. (did it say "driver for device is uploaded"?)
Reason why it does not work is just a question and needs more information from your pc and device you are using. Too many reason before that.
You can also get logs from "event viewer" to see, what went wrong and when. (Use admin rights)
