How to transfer video from PC to Sony DCR-SR300?

Jul 14, 2007 4:07AM PDT

I transfered a couple videos from my camcorder to my PC. However I've been trying to get those videos back to the camcorder but with no luck. Is there a certain program I can use? With the bundled Picture Motion Browser a message pops up saying "The currently connected Handycam does not support receiving files from this program" Thanks for the help.

Operating Guide at sony.com, at the upper right, click Service & Support... then follow the prompts.

There is a section on transferring from the camera (importing) to the computer with the supplied software - but *nothing* about transferring from the computer to the camera (exporting?).

This doesn't appear to be a feature of this device.

However if it shows up as a disk drive have you tried guessing where to copy your file in?

Any files on your PC can be transferred to the disk. It's just a matter of if you want the camcorder to be able to play the videos back. It won't because of the video's format. Many use the camcorder as an external HDD.

If you do want to put files onto the camcorder, all you do is drag-and-drop. When you plug the camcorder into the computer, it should appear as an external drive.

When its plug and play I add videos to the destination folder on the camcorder but it doesnt show it on my list of videos. It is strange that I upload the video from the camcorder to PC but I cant send the video back. Even though I didnt change the format or anything. So yea I do want the camcorder to play the videos, not just storing them as an external HDD.
