Hi there.

There are two options you can choose from - to make a fresh installation of the OS, which is the one I would prefer and recommend you to do since that way you'll get faster speeds and can avoid any potential problems that may occur as well (for instance, if you have any bad sectors or errors they will go to the destination drive).

For the fresh install, if you want to use the old HDD too, you can follow these steps:

* Plug in only the SSD.

* After that insert the CD or the USB stick with the copy of the OS.

* Boot off that device and install the OS onto the SSD as AHCI (since this will give you the best performance for SSD).

* Plug in the HDD and format via the same menu, or if it's a drive that has valuable data, bring it back up in the OS.

The second option you have is to clone your current system to the SSD with a cloning software. I personally had used Acronis True Image WD Edition, which you can download and use if your HDD is a WD drive, and follow the steps in this KB article.

Hope this helps and feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Cheers! Happy

defrag your HDD, do a windows disk cleanup and a chkdsk, for possible bad sectors and other errors, i did a clean install myself.
p.s.
using SSD is awesome!
