Question

How to take Panorama Photographs

Jan 21, 2015 8:48PM PST

Can anyone help me out PLEASE
I have just purchased a Fujifilm XF1 camera, and no way on this earth (after a full week of trying ) can I figure out how to take "Panoramic Photographs" . The instruction manual provided, and that downloaded online, tell me to "press the selector button down & select left or right to highlight an angle ETC. ETC"
There is no reference to a "SELECTOR BUTTON " in the instruction manual...I have tried everything, I have pushed every blinking button on the camera...nothing works.
Can anyone give me a very very simple idiots guide on how to set my camera up to take panoramic photos. The instruction manual is totally useless ( and I am not an idiot with instructions ) but this time !!!!! I GIVE UP. Thank yoy all in anticipation

I'd take pictures that overlapped and then use stitching software to merge them into a panorama. Sounds like they may have incorporated this capability in the camera itself.

Motion Panorama 360

Just sweep the camera right-left or up-down to shoot giant panoramas up to 360°. When you view the panorama playing back on your camera or personal computer, you can enjoy a seamless panorama image with both ends stitched together to create a "cylinder" view.

Motion Panorama Special Site

clk on the right side of that page and a slideout comes which shows how to do it. You choose the angle for the panorama and hold the image button and turn around, there's a slider bar on bottom so you know when facing the same way again I guess.

I was able to take panoramic photo's on my last camera, BUT cannot access the panoramic mode on my new Fujifilm XF1. The instruction manual quotes....
"To select the angle through which you will pan the camera while shooting, press the selector down.Press the selector left or right to highlight an angle and press MENU/OK"
My question to anyone who can help is....................
"There is no SELECTOR" button !
Even the manual does not show one...
Can any reader take me through it step by step and tell me what the instruction manual is referring to when it quotes SELECTOR BUTTON.
