I read somewhere that these head units can read up to a maximum of only 250gb. So I guess you can't take all your songs with you just yet.
I have a very large iTunes collection of ripped (not downloaded) music of ~1,100 CDs, over 12K songs and 150 playlists saved in Apple Loss-less format taking up around 400 GB . I want to install a hard drive or SSD to a yet un-purchased head unit. Obviously there is no tablet or phone that can store that much data, so an ordinary USB connection to a head unit won't work.
We like having ALL our music and playlists available everywhere we go. When I travel I have the entire library on a USB external HD and can play off my PC. How can this be done in an automobile's sound system? Google searches have not proved promising on this topic.
I only have room in my stock dash for a single DIN unit and would like a flip out and up LCD screen. Any and all insights greatly appreciated.
