Question

How to Stream All Share and External Hard Drive

Apr 8, 2015 10:46AM PDT

Hi All,

I'm not to the forums so I hope I've posted in the right area.

I have a 2.5Tb Adata external hard drive. I am trying to stream videos to my Samsung BD E8500A Blu-Ray player. Both PC and BD are connected to my LAN. I would like to be able to access the videos from my computer and watch them through my BD player.

I am running Windows7 on my PC and have downloaded the AllShare program. I am able to stream some movies that have already been stored on my hard drive but it won't let me do the same to the external. I have found a way to share the external HD videos but it makes me copy the videos on the "Videos" folder in "My Computer" which defeats the purpose of having an external.

I have also made the external available to share on the LAN, but the BD player doesn't seem to be able to find this folder.

If anyone has a solution that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Mark
