Question

How To Stop This

Jul 22, 2012 4:57AM PDT

My new computer is still locking up a few times a week and when I look at the event log it mentions HP Support Assistance Service. I have no HP applications running on start up so why does it make reference to this and how can I stop this.
The lock up problem mainly occurs when I install new software.

Hi moranacus,
Were you able to resolve the problem with your unit freezing?

It looks like a Service

HP Support Assistance Service.

See if there is anything in the Services Console from HP that looks like this. If there is open the Service Properties window and either set the service to manual or disable it.
