If your site is too slow, how can it be the best? And if it's the best already, why make it even better?

Hosting Server's Speed Counts
Feb 14, 2020 2:57PM PST

The speed of the server that is hosting the given website counts. Also, the Internet connection's speed to the hosting server plays a big factor, too. On the website's side, scripts can slow down the loading speed on the browser. Large media files can take longer to load, too. If there are a lot of images to load on a single web page, loading time will be longer than expected in some cases. Mind you, the number of load requests is important to note. A heavily used website is being accessed a lot more than a website with less traffic. A web server can only handle a specific number of requests per minute.

Hosting + Optimization
Feb 18, 2020 2:12AM PST

You have to change your hosting and I will be amazed if your website is running on your own VPS because that makes it poor and not best. Secondly, you need to optimize your site with things like image size, and not too many graphical illustrations which are making your site slow.
