What are you writing?

While we can use the fastest drive and media we can find, some tasks take hours as the video is made into a DVD video and then put to the media.

writing mp3's and movies

whether its mp3's or movies in any format, it takes the same time.

i don't convert them..
'copying them' in the same format they are.

(basically its getting all the stuff i need for future use from the computer to a dvd, without changing their format)
