Find a friend with (another) laptop and use that also to measure the speed using some Internet speed test.
It's only an issue of your computer if yours is slow and that laptop is fast. It's an issue of the connection if both are "very slow".

What exactly do you mean with "very slow" and how did you measure it?

internet issue as usual

Well Kees is right.

if you have multiple computer on your house you can check the difference of the speed. if ever you do that make sure you are HARDWIRED to modem / router.

ISP will usually say that it's your computer if they have checked thoroughly the line connection from the main office to your premises up to the waljack. but sometimes they also assume.

if your internet connection if fast before and it just happen recently that its slow, that may be PC issue.

1. Optimizing your browser will help.
2. Scan for possible virus.
3. go to Safe mode with networking and check if its faster than inside your OS.

well that's all I can think of right now. just tell us what happen. : )

hope this help.

Hi,

It can be a issue of your system or broadband so if you want to check than you need to get another PC or Laptop and connect with your broadband and if second PC works fine than there is no issue with broadband so you need to check your PC.

How to solve slow broadband issue? DOCSY 3.0
Apr 8, 2012 1:15PM PDT

Your ISP generally can only see traffic from your Modems IP, not individual systems behind a router. Direct connect your laptop to the modem and test, the issue could be in your router. OR see below on DOCSYS 3.0 modem if your ISP supports 3.0.

For the last couple of years I was sure my laptop and workstation were being hacked or watched... yeah, I know, no aluminum cone hat here. But on Saturday morning we had a total failure (eeeek). Called Cox and they could not see me so decided to create ticket for a home visit to fix. About an hour later received a call and based on my issue they found there was an outage. I tested and all seemed 'normal'. The tech stated with my service package I should be using a modem with DOCSYS 3.0, my current one had 2.0. Okay, I will go see about it, Cox sells them bla bla bla. Went to BB and got a Moto SB6121, set it up, had Cox activate it and FREAKING WOW.
I may be able to get to the end of the internet now. Ping times always around 30, up and down hanging at 22 / 8. REALLY FOLKS DOCSYS 3.0 IS DaBOMB.
