by buyer brown / March 29, 2008 4:16 AM PDT

Hi I would like to ask a few questions about networking
What I have:
1. I have 4 clean pc?s no operating system install
2. I have windows 2000 server (OS) and win 2000 pro (OS)
3. I have a printer
4. I have a router
What I would like to know:
I?m not sure about how to start would I install the server software first then connect that computer to the router then just connect the other computers to the router.
And the server would see the other Pc?s
And what about the DHCP is that another PC that I need to setup?
I guess what I would like to know if you had what I have above what would you exactly do step by step
Thanks for any help

1.) Install the OS on all machines. (I have five running XP Pro, one of which has a drive I use as the network drive, it's shared) I've never seen the need for Server software.

2.) Run the Network Setup Wizard on each PC, giving the same network name to each PC. And turn on File and Printer Sharing.

3.) Plug the router into the modem.

4.) Plug each PC into a router port.

5.) Power up each PC one at a time.

6.) Install the printer on one machine.

7.) Have the other machines search for a network printer. Once found all PCs can use the printer.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
