ON your younger brother's computer, make sure "File and Printer Sharing" is enabled in the Control Panel/Network Connections/Local Area Connections icon. Once that's done, there are a couple of ways to create the "workgroup" name. (I'm not on a Media Center XP computer, but I'll do my best here.) Most will open the "Network Connections", then click on "Set Up a home or small office network" link on the left side of the window. Follow the prompts to create a workgroup name. (You can also RIGHT click on "My Computer", click on "Computer Name" tab, then click on the button to create a workgroup.) Once the workgroup name is created, then share out the file printer by opening Windows Explorer, RIGHT click on the directory you want to share, choose "Sharing and Security", then share the directory. Next, open the "Printers" folder, RIGHT click on the printer, choose "Sharing", then share the printer.

Once that's done, on all the other computers, follow similar instructions as above to make sure "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks" is installed, then RIGHT click on "My Computer", click on "Computer Name" tab, then click on the button to join the workgroup. You should now be able to "see" all the shared directories. In order to use the shared printer, you'll need to go to the "Printers" folder and "Add" the Network printer. If necessary, you may need to install the software from the remote printer on each of the computers that will use it.

Hope this helps.
