How To Set Up A Home Server?

I'm in the process of setting up a home server where I can access with 4 computers. I intended to hook up one to the T.V.(Media Center) where I can watch DVD movies,Digital Photo and sing Karaoke.All these are store in the home server 250GB hard disk for a start. The other 3 computers(Daughter/Son/Wife & Myself)should be able to access to this as well. How do I go about doing this? Can anyone help?
