Question

How to set default document type in windows -7

Aug 18, 2014 4:13PM PDT

Hi - All,

I need to open MS work document enbadded in IE -9, I am using windows -7 as operating system, through google I come to know there are 2 below setting in registery to open document embedded in IE.

Goto Reg edit =>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE => SOFTWARE => CLASSES =>

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Word.Document.8
BrowserFlags=1 (In Hexa)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Word.Document.12
BrowserFlags=24 (In Hexa)

I did this setting and my document is opening in IE but every time one pop-up is coming to ask save / open / cancel this document.

Can any one please suggest how to avoid this pop message.

Note: In windows XP there is option to set document type as default document.

Thanks
Yogendra.
