Question

How to save one file ito multiple files

Jul 19, 2011 1:05PM PDT

hi all,

my prob is that i need to save a pdf files into multiple pdf files, the situation is that in that single pdf files, there are a list of items listed and i need to save it into individual item based on the list, let say if in the single pdf files there are 10 item listed so i need to save the files into 10 individual files based on the item/list.

Fot the time being, i have to click save as and enter the individual item name for ten times if the item is 10, just imagine if in the file, there are 100 item, so i need to click save as, enter the item names and redo it again for 100 times!

is there any clever way to do it....?

Yes. But...

You have to go back to who is creating the PDF and have them give it to you in a better format.

I like what Kees suggested. While this is best done by your programmer and an app I run into folk that can't do the study and figure out if creating the app is worth it.

If it's not worth creating the app, then maybe the original work or task needs to be reviewed and possibly dismissed as too expensive for the business.

I don't think this can be done without programming. So ask your programmer what format he prefers to handle.

It needn't be complicated.

If it's a spreadsheet with a well defined format, for example, and you happen to have Excel to write a macro in to do it, any Excel programmer can do it iin at most one day.
