How to revive a dying laptop battery?

Nov 3, 2011 4:03PM PDT

After charging my laptop battery, the indication shows I can use it for 4 hours or more. However, the battery lasted less than 2 hours. I bought my Lenovo U460 in March 2011. I selected a balanced plan for battery usage.

Nothing is busted here. WHY?

Because the battery is only rated for 300 cycles you can see if drop by about 50% in one year if the owner uses the battery daily.

This is the price you pay for using the battery. You may get lucky and get it replaced under warranty but I want to WARN YOU FROM BATTERY REVIVAL sites.

Any "exercising" will cause the battery to age more and never revives it. There's plenty of folk that will disagree but after decades of work in the electronics design field, I hope you learned your lesson about saving battery use to when you can't find AC.

PS. A nod to the app called BATTERYBAR
