How to reverse change from @ to a

Apr 3, 2005 1:35AM PST

Does anyone know what would have changed the @ symbol to come up as a plain 'a'?
An elderly lady friend of mine translated some text to another language (french?) where she needed accents.
Subsequently, when she wanted to send e-mail, the @ appeared as 'a' and she can no longer send messages.
Hope someone can help,
Karin

Thank You!
Will pass this on to my friend and hope this will do it for her.
Also, I have learned something in the process - a good thing!
