If you are using DHCP, the norm in a home network, then the IP addresses are allocated automatically by the DHCP server. This server is usually a Router or Modem/Router.
IP addresses in this sort of home network are usually 192.168.x.x
<div>
If a computer has an IP address beginning with 169.x, that indicates that the computer did not receive an IP address from the DHCP server so it allocated one to itself. (169.x.x.x = Self assigned IP address)
I configured 174 subnet in a port but still it is sowing 169.254.8.122 . whether subnet mask should be 255.255.255.0 it is sowing now 255.255.0.0
