The Samsung ES55 was never sold in the USA, so I assume it is a European model.
The Samsung L100 was sold in the USA and Europe.
The specification for both LCD screens is 2.5 inch LCD screen with 230,000 dots.
If the cable that plugs into the screen fits and the mounting holes in the LCD screen frame are the same, you have a chance that they are identical.
No guarantee.
Since the camera is made in Korea, I assume that the both LCD screens are too.
You can buy a new ES55 at Amazon.com for $100.
You can buy a used L100 at Amazon.com for $65.
Any repair made by Samsung will likely cost more than that.
Be aware that that swapping the LCD may work or it may kill your camera and/or screen.
I have never done such a repair, so I have no idea how to do it.
..
Both my daughters have Samsung cameras, the one has a ES55 and the other the L100. Both are broken- the ES55's LED screen is cracked and the lens does not want to retract with the L100.
They have bought new cameras, but I want to repair at least one to give to their younger brother. I opened both, but the interior differs vastly. I thought the easiest would be to replace the ES55 screen with the screen of the L100.
My questions: Are the specs the same so that I can replace the broken screen with the other one?
Secondly, if so, how does one do it- I saw some video clips the other day of people replacing screens.
If I would take it to a workshop, the price will be close to the price of a new camera.
