how to repair a partition from a second partition

by blowin3z / January 10, 2010 11:00 AM PST

Hi, I had this problem at startup: c:\windows\system32\config\system could not be found.. I tried everything that I could find in the windows forums to repair it with the windows cd, but nothing works. I had previously created 3 paritions on my HD, one where I installed XP, one that I formated to have all my data in, and a third one that I left blank just in case I needed to reinstall xp to access my data.

So having reinstalled xp on the blank partition, I can start y computer angain and try to go fix the problem in the first partition registry.

Is it possible to do so, and if yes, how?

Thank you for your help
