Question

How to remove Task Manager icon in System Tray?

Sep 9, 2013 7:58PM PDT

I have Task Manager running all the time, but I don't want the icon in the system tray when it's not hidden, because it's extra clutter. How to remove it..?

I guess I wasn't clear enough. I want to remove the icon, not hide it. It's even more clutter to have the arrow which expands into the task manager icon than just having the icon there.

Let's not get too lost.

I had a client (that paid and paid and paid, which was nice) but they were under some impression that apps that were not showing but would in some right click were really running after all.

Even after months of what amounted to Computer 100 classes progressing to showing processes with the PsList tool (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896682.aspx ) they remained unconvinced. Eventually we asked if they wanted us to alter the menus to remove the entries and they paid for the work.

I can't guess how much this was worth to them but the last they heard they got an iPad.

Hehe, it's not that big of a deal, I was just getting all tweaker status on customizing my taskbar. Thanks anyway.
