If you had this problem before the upgrade or have installed any programs after the upgrade then you may have malware.
I would recommend installing malwarebytes https://www.malwarebytes.org/ here and running a scan.
If you are using Google Chrome you can install Adblock Plus (ABP) and that will get rid of pop ups and ads on any other page you visit.
Lastly when you install new programs read every screen in the install wizard as most will ask if they can install potentially dangerous programs. Make sure that you un-check any box asking you to install something other than the original program.
1,Open Chrome.
2,In the top-right corner, click the icon you see: Menu or More.
3,Click Settings.
4,Click Show advanced settings.
5,Under "Privacy," click Content settings.
6,Under "Pop-ups," select Do not allow any site to show pop-ups (recommended) or Allow all
tes to show pop-ups
