How To remove Firefox?

Jan 18, 2013 5:38AM PST

I can not remove Mozilla Firefox. I've tried to uninstall it in the control panel and it wouldn't. I tried CCleaner and the same. I am also having the same trouble with Lexmark and don't understand why.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Uninstalling and installing troubles

Usually indicates troubles with corrupt/missing Windows operating system files.

Blue screens, program errors, etc? Registry cleaners are known to cause issues.

Microsoft Fix-it for Uninstall/Install issues here: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/program_install_and_uninstall/

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2438651 Some of the information may or may not be pertinent to your issues.

Run sfc /scannow from Start>Run scannow will repair/replace any missing or corrupt Windows system files with known good original copies. This will take some time to complete; you must allow this to finish.

Note the syntax is the following: sfc(space)/scannow If not done correctly, this program will not run and report an error.

Report back any errors found or reported exactly.

Have You Tried Mozilla's Uninstall Steps?
Jan 19, 2013 12:49AM PST

Their procedures allow you to directly access their uninstall program instead of using the Control Panel "uninstall" link. Here's that link:

http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/uninstall-firefox-from-your-computer

And here are the manual removal instructions of the entire program from the Mozilla site as well.

http://kb.mozillazine.org/Uninstalling_Firefox#On_Windows

And if that still doesn't get it done, try the freeware version of Revo Uninstaller from the link below:

Hope this helps.
