Question

How to remove Bandoo &searchnu/408

Jun 29, 2012 7:52AM PDT

What more can I say. This site came in with I don't know & I hate it. Mainly, because I can't get rid of it! It has replaced GOOGLE CHROME & frankly, I'm afraid of it.

Our member edwineg added a totally unnecessary spam link to his advice. I left that out and copied the rest.

"Hello,
Hope this can help you to solve the problem.

1. Please go to the Start Menu. Select Control Panel,Add/Remove Programs.
If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, select Control Panel , Uninstall a Program.

2. Search for Bandoo and searchquToolbar in the list. Select the program and click Remove button.
If you are using Windows Vista/7, click Uninstall up near the top of that window.

3. Manual remove searchnu from your browser, Google Chrome.
1) Click on Customize and control Google Chrome icon and select Settings,
2) Choose Basic Options. Change Google Chrome homepage to google.com or any other and click the Manage search engines... button,
3) Select Google from the list and make it your default search engine;
4) Select Search Results from the list remove it by clicking the "X" mark to delete the searchnu"

If it were as easy as deleting the program, I'd have been elated! I have manually removed this ****** by restoring my home page, manytimes & finally going to "Edit search engines'. I've read the site was safe, fun & good for you, however I want nothing to do w/ anything that hard to remove. Thanks again, edwineg for your interest & concern.

New listing in control panel
Nov 28, 2012 7:10PM PST

I couldn't find searchnu or bandoo in my list of programs but I did find "Search Results Toolbar" by a publisher called "APN LLC" that I deleted.
As it was uninstalling I noticed that as it scrolled through all the things within the program that were being deleted, searchnu appeared for a second or so.
This leads me to believe that this was actually the searchnu program but it has now been given a new name by the publishers to further add confusion when trying to locate it.

Thought this might help anyone with the same problem.

Steve.
