After a clean reinstall, it should be exactly the same procedure as it was the first time. It's not clear from your post what problems you have now, or what you do different this time.

I had Windows 7 reinstalled in my Dell desktop. Now I 'm having a problem installing my HP printer. It has a usb connection. Do I have to disable the antivirus or is this one of Dell's little PITA things? I have never had a problem installing things on my own before but I'm frustrated now.
