How to Reformat MP4 Player

by megcate09 / January 31, 2007 12:24 AM PST

I brought a MP4 player through ebay from China and everytime I try to get into anything it says 'disk error'. I complained and they told me to reformat it but I have no idea on how to do this. I am no computer wizz so would love for someone to give me step by step instructions on how to do this or if you think there is another problem or solution please let me know.

You don't want to know...

Keep reading this forum and while many reformat the MP3/4 player they discover the player drops from gigabytes to 256MB or smaller. If we rip the player open we discover a 256MB flash chip. These are scam devices that are rigged to show 4GB or other than the 256MB and fail as people try to add more than 256MB. The maker or seller tells the owner to reformat and the story continues.

At this point the scam is so widespread that you better just pack it up and return it for the ripoff it is.
