How to Reformat Maxtor External HD?

I have a Maxtor One Touch 2 300gb external HD and I need to reformat it from Fat32 to NTFS. Does anybody know how to do this. I cannot for the life of me find out online. Thanks for your help. Im running XP if that makes any difference.

Well not sure if this will work with xp but with win 2000 youi click on start, setting, control panel, and administrative tools. When this opens click on computer management, Once there you should be able to see your external hdd and from there reformat to ntfs. Happy

I also need to reformat a Maxtor drive from Mac to PC

In linux, I run fdisk.

Be sure to report that you don't see the forum tip. It writes

Tip: If you are asking for help to troubleshoot a computer-related problem, please be sure to include all the necessary information (ie: operating system, model number, hardware, software, etc) that will help others identify your problem for a speedy resolution.

I think fdisk is in most Windows versions. Then you format it after deleting the partitions.
