But all of your documents are where they were originally!

You made a "Backup" of your documents which involves COPYING your documents from their original location to the new location.

Explain exactly how you performed a backup and maybe we can see what happened.

Yes I tried to performe a back up of my computer

Then it asked me where I want to transfer the documents. I chose my external hard driver which was 500 gb, after that my documents on computer are still the same but of course the performance which was slow it is now ok. My external has now about 32 gb only and it called now Recovery (F:) with some folder namely boot, source and efi. All those folder has only 14.4 gb and I think my orginal folder were bigger than that.

My computer is HP intel core i7. the orginal lace of the missing document was on external hard driver .

So you really do not want to "Recover" the documents

from the external hard drive because they are still on your internal drive.

You might want to consider formatting that external and starting again.

What software did you use to do the backup?

No software used I think it is the back of windows 8 as usual ( Not so sure but I remember I have not used any software).
but before I do as your advices.

1. If I format the External, it will not affect other document on my Pc?
2. I will regain the original capacity of my external as well as all documents?

Thanks.

Re: Windows 8 backup

In reply to: I want to recover the documents

http://www.howtogeek.com/123713/how-windows-8s-backup-system-differs-from-windows-7s/ tells about the Windows 8 backup. That's not "as usual", I think.

If you format the external drive nothing will happen to files on your internal drive. But the external drive will be totally empty. And that allows you to use any (other) backup program you like and understand to copy your files to it in such a way that you can get them back also.

Our member wpgwpg usually recommends http://download.cnet.com/EaseUS-Todo-Backup-Free/3000-2242_4-10964460.html, but you can have a look at Syncback (not free) or Microsofts Synctoy (free) also.
