It is likely that account is now corrupted.
Have you tried System Restore yet? I'm not hopeful it will work, but it is worth a try. Do that from the original account, the one you were in when you renamed the folder.
I assume you have tried renaming the folder back to what it was? Then simply copy those entries in the Temp folder back to where they should be perhaps.
You can also try, (but again I am not hopeful), the "Fix Corrupted Profile" method as suggested here;
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/fix-a-corrupted-user-profile
To do that you will need to create a new profile, (account), and copy the contents of the Temp file to the new profile.
Good luck.

HELP! I accidentally renamed one of the user/home folders.
I have a vista 64bit -
after i renamed the user home folder i then logged onto the user account of the folder i had renamed. Turns out the account has been restored to default settings with none of the old files, etc.
When i go into the Users folder however, there is an additional folder entitled ''TEMP'' and the renamed folder is still there and is intact.
How do i restore the account/user to its previous state?
Please, please, please - any help would be greatly appreciated. I need this fixed ASAP.
