How to record internet stream on Portable Video Player ???

by Cerppp / July 21, 2006 9:27 AM PDT

Here is what I wanna do: record while it's playing on my computer (real media or wmv) an internet stream.
What do I need to do it?
If not possible while it's playing: ny other alternatives to get the stream on my PVP?

Well, if you had a Mac...

I could tell you wha to do, since I do this all the time. Not sure with a PC, but I'm sure there are a zillion programs that can record streaming audio then convert them into MP3 or other formats. I do it with WireTapPro and/or Audio HiJack on my Mac. They record anything the computer plays and they convert the audio into any audio format I want. Being on a Mac, I save the stream in MP3 then I use iTunes to import the stream then it talks to my MP3 player and outputs to it. I know you can download iTunes for a PC, but maybe if you do a Google for Audio HiJack or WireTapPro, maybe their makers have something similar for a PC.

What about recording in real time?
by Cerppp / July 22, 2006 7:45 AM PDT

Thanks for the software names. However I wanted to know if there is a way to record in "real time": while the stream is playing on my computer screen it's been recorder on the PVP (and what kind of PVP does that?).

Anyone has an input on that?

Real time
by Dan Filice / July 22, 2006 11:24 AM PDT

My software records the stream in realtime and I can listen to it immediately in realtime. What it doesn do in realtime is burn a CD while the stream is playing. I'm no aware of any audio CD burning hardware or software that allows one to burn an audio CD in realtime like one can do with a DVD burner and burn a DVD from a source.

In reply to: Real time

Anybody knows if you can record to your Cowon A2 or Archos AV an internet stream while it's playing on your computer???
That is when the stream ends on your computer's player it is recorded and ready to play on your PVP.

I just recorded a 60min stream
by Dan Filice / July 23, 2006 7:00 AM PDT

I just recorded Car Talk, which is a 60 min Real streaming show. After my software recorded it and saved it to the computer, it took literally less than 2 minutes to convert it to MP3 for an iPod. If your computer had the right software programs this can be done in a jiffy. Are you trying to get it to an MP3 player in realtime?

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
