how to quit AOL but keep favs, filing cabinet, address bk ??

Mar 8, 2005 2:20PM PST

I want to quit AOL and wipe my harddrive to make it go away forever, but I want to keep my several year history of favorite websites/links and keep the emails that are in my many-drawered filing cabinet, and keep my address book intact. I ran across several software prgms to do this but now can't find them when I'm ready to dump AOL for good. Does anyone know the right search words, or know of a prgm that's free or cheap that will capture my AOL stuff? If you ask AOL, they say you can't look at anything in your filing cabinet without their software, so I need something that "converts" my old emails, or gets rid of a tag or something they put on them, so I can save them into a text file or something, and I really want to save my favorites list w/out having to cut/paste every link.
Thanks!

How to quit AOL / CompuServe and keep the good stuff

There is a great utility from a company named Connected Software. The program is ''ePreserver'', and it is a HUGE help when leaving AOL / CompuServe. It will copy your saved e-mail messages, address book, and favorite places. Well worth the price of $24.95 for this utility. Check the following link ...

There are also some freeware / shareware programs out there, but I have no experience with them and cannot recommend.
