How to play my Blu ray speakers through reg. tv

Jun 20, 2009 11:50AM PDT

(Alright, i literally created the account here to ask this question, so sorry if i went about this wrong...)

Alright, so i have a Mitsubishi DLP 1080p 60" tv, i didnt have speakers, so i bought a blue ray player, that came with a home theater setup, so i plugged in the blu ray player, and the speakers, and they sound sooooo good, but i am not sure why my TV won't use those speakers, i tried going to my tv's main menu, but the audio part has nothing to do with using external speakers...

Please help...

Speakers . . .

Does the TV have audio out jacks? Does the new player have audio in jacks? If yes on both accounts, connect the TV's audio out to the player's audio in.

Do one or both....

In the TV audio menu area you have to change speakers to 'out' or 'Variable' ( it could be called something else)

&/or

The Bluray/home threater is set too the wrong input, should be on something like AUX, TV, Cable... Something along those lines.

Thank you very much for the help, the speakers are working well now, except for the surround speakers, they for some reason are not working...If you aren't sure, it isnt really a big deal, but i would love to have actual surround sound!
