Try Nero

Depending on the DVD player you have, you might be able to burn a VCD (Video CD) that will play on most new DVD players. You can usually check your DVD player's manual or box and look for the VCD logo. If your DVD player plays VCDs, there's a program called NERO and it will burn videos, pictures, slideshows and just anything to a regular CD-R/CD-RW. I think the program's about $50, but it's worth it and all you need is a CD burner and those have obviously come way down in price while DVD burners are still pretty far up there. I'm not sure what Nero's new version looks like, but i've got Nero 5.0 and it's awsome, i think 6.0 has DVD burning software in it to, but the downside is it's more expensive so if you can find somewhere that has 5.0, you can try that (maybe they have a trial version)
